Brought this to a family dinner and the tray was empty before dessert was even officially served. The brownies stayed soft and fudgy in the middle, and those chocolate chips melted just enough to feel indulgent without being overly sweet.

The semi-sweet chocolate chips are what make these, honestly — little pockets of chocolate in every bite instead of just a plain brownie. I brought the tray to a dinner party and it was empty before the coffee was even poured.

I'm usually a frosting person, but these brownies don't need it. The semi-sweet chips stay a little melty in the dark chocolate batter, so every bite has that sweet-tart contrast going on.
