We hebben het weer gedaan met onze Turtle Cheesecake, gemaakt volgens een recept rechtstreeks uit Brooklyn. Het is een taart van 10 inch met klonten chewy pecannoten gedrenkt in een laagje karamel bovenop een romige cheesecake. Deze mix van roomkaas, noten en karamel is een ware smaakbeleving.
The 10-inch size was perfect for our dinner party of eight, and the caramel and pecan topping tasted freshly made rather than mass-produced. The cheesecake itself stayed creamy all the way through, no dry edges at all.
I was nervous about shipping a cheesecake, but it arrived perfectly chilled and the caramel layer stayed glossy and intact. The creamy filling isn't overly sweet, which lets the chewy pecan clumps really shine through. Already planning to order another for the holidays.
